"Cracklewear" Mural @ North St Bar, Peterborough

Just completed a 3.5 x 2.5 m for @ North St Bar, Peterborough. Measuring in at around 3.5 x 2.5 meters, it is based on the "Cracklewear"screen-print. This version is slightly different from the original, as we intended to keep the walls the same colour and not darken the room off.

Masking the graffiti on the dark tones & painting back into the wall with the exact match on the wall colour was an inspired choice. We finished the curves of her head off tightly on the left and kept a choice selection of tags on the right to mix up slender elegance with gritty tags.

Exhibition in London, 2011

Great news - we have an exhibition planned later on this year in London. Curated by the Joys of Childhood & Monokrome guys, it will be a strictly black and white affair, so some excusive monochrome BOYD pieces are being created as we speak ;) The exhibition will feature some of the worlds finest graffiti / street artists from all over the world, so it is an honour to be part of it. It is set to coincide with the launch of their new street art / graffiti book, Monokrome. Venue TBC, watch this space for updates.

The Monokrome book features the work of some of the top graffiti writers : Remi/Rough, Nash & Does, Hush, Cute Asker, Itch, Killer, Inkfetish, Gerbil, Denz, Kofie, Inkie & Sytem.

One more plug and I'm done ..:) Don't forget to Check the blog & don't forget to buy the book too, at 25 quid it's a small price to pay for a piece of graffiti history. I will leave you with a short video featuring Remi/Rough, one of the true greats.

Limited Edition Screen Prints

I am very excited to have a limited run of some very exclusive pieces. Every piece of art is unique, using different layers sprayed up with freehand graffiti. The process we used involved screen-printing the top layer & sealing it in matte plastasol ink With all art we printed it on the very finest fine art paper - a 340gsm archive museum grade textured paper--- "Hahnemuhle" Artists paper. Prints are all signed by the artist, sealed & numbered.

All prints created from scratch all at our Vinola House Studio in Leicester.

New Artworks

New art up for the blog. It's been a while, but I've been busy as, working hard on a number of projects , exciting stuff though :))

We have a few more London inspired pieces. Fusing bright acrylic paints with street textures & loads more experimenting with my unique reverse stencil masking technique.

I have also been trying to get a bit more detail into my pieces, moving away from simplistic stencils and thinking more about working in the studio, so you

will be seeing more intricate masks, layering and some limited edition screen prints to come. I have also been paying more attention to transforming some of my old tattoo designs into complete pieces on canvas. Lots of pastel colours & underspray combined with a bit of old skool tattoo inspiration and a nice gritty background have turned ""lady Luck" (left) from a sketch book piece into a piece of art that you can hang on the wall.

My New Art on WHoArtNow

Hola Peeps! Just to let you all know - I have some new limited editions

released on WHoArtNow. I have reluctantly pulled a few special pieces out the bag, and offered them up for sale. We've got the "underground" installation above which I entitled "Metro Transit Authority" - named

after the legendary MTA (Metro Transit Assassins) - LA's finest Grafitti boys. The MTA was a seriously big piece -

mixed media / spray paint amongst other things to make that one..... We've got th

e very limited "Rusty Swallow" >> right which has a special place in my heart. It is based on a swallow tattoo, w

hich uses layers of rust to achieve it's bold composition. I am a texture man, and this is the texture at it's best for me.

There are various others, too

many to talk about so I though I would just site those two for now. The lovely guys and gals at WHoArtNow are staggering the launch of all my work, so there are about 6 more on for now, I will get on the blog and update you all with mo

Exhbition at the One Ton Show, London 2008

Just a quick note to let you know I've got a some art at an exhibition in London next weekend, 4th, 5th and 6th December. It's a pretty decent sized venue, being the Shoreditch Town Hall of all places.. The exhibition is by the East End Arts crew, and called One Ton Show, a bit of a new concept in getting 100 artist, illustrators, graphic designers, print-makers and photographers have been invited to participate. The work will be based around the theme of 'London Lyrics'.

I put in my "Pop Rocks", a more rough and texturalised canvas, you've seen it before, but never like this.. Loads of layers, loads of colours, it is like taking a slab of my street work and slapping it lovingly on canvas.

Solo Exhibtiton at Alley, Nottingham

Just to let you all know - I've got a bit of a Solo Exhibition up at Alley in Nottingham. It's fairy small, but it's a quality, intimate venue, so it's all good as far as I'm concerned. I've got some framed prints, in the gold Stately frames, and a selection of BOYD originals too, all produced on canvas. The concept behind the artwork is to try and recreate what I've been doing on the streets on canvas, so it's all about working into loads of multiple layers of texture, and scratching back into them..

Some of my favs: "Made Up" is all Flapper and Burlesque Stylee, on the base layer you've got some of my freehand tags, which have been eclipsed by the overlaying and roughening of the top layers. "Pop Rocks" is a similar venison to some of the one from the streets, this time it's been produced on top of a load of old Vinyl Sleeves. A bit of under spray on a couple of layers, this canvas has been going down a treat in the bar.. Don't worry, no decent record sleeves were harmed in the making of this Art ;)

So a bit about the venue : Alley is a great little Vegan style Cafe Bar in Nottingham. New Site Up Dates

Just to let you know, the site has just been updated. You've now got a bit more cracking off now with some dedicated sections: a stencil art page, 0ne for sticker art & one all about my illustrations. The flash element is all new, and might take a few seconds to load, so don't worry if you are presented with an empty screen. So there is also a new Q & A part to the About Us, following an interview with Andy from WHoArtNow. So it's all good ;) Bare with me, I'm still digging through the archives and getting some old snaps and bits of art out, and bringing them into the digital age and getting them on the old interwebb. I've also reincarnated some old graphic icons that I did circa 2000 -2002, and turning them into stickers for various sticker expos and festivals all around the world. There are talks about various opportunities about exhibiting all over the place at the minute, I won't say anything until it has been secured, so watch this space.. Exhibition in London - May / June 2008

Just to let you know, I've currently got some art work on at a London Exhibition. It's a been called a "Graphic Art and Illustration exhibition", all been hosted by pacific-web & the idea is to push the whole street art thing that's going on.

They chose my "Eastern Equidae" (Brown Zebra stencil on the left) although they featured the " White Zebras" I have on the WHoArtNow site on the flyer for the event.

It's on at the Media Village, based just North of Oxford Street, London. and hosting this Located in the same building as the D&G London offices, the security is a bit tight, however if you ask nicely I'm sure you won't have a problem.

Although I wasn't there for it, the exhibition was a great success on opening day with over 500 attending, and will hopefully be up for the next 3 months. If you fancy popping your head in, the address is 131-151 Gt Titchfield Street, W1W 5BB.

Also, a heads up to a few of my long time compadres that also had some work exhibited: JaxxStar and Pegs. On a personal note though guys - check your emails ;)
